Gift Ideas for a Family member

Sometimes, when a family member’s birthday is nearing, we tend to have this one huge thinking of what to give as a gift for the birthday celebrant. I don’t know if others have the same feeling that I do, but everytime I think of a gift for any member of my family, I have a hard time coming up with a decision. I usually come up with several ideas but it always seem that that gift is not enough or is not right.

For me, a gift to a family member is different from a gift to a friend or to an officemate or to a neighbor or simply to an acquaintance. Maybe it’s because when you’re giving a gift to your parents or your sister or your brother, you want to give the best gift that you know they would really appreciate. But at the same time, you know that even if it is not pricey, they would still love anything that comes from you.

Gifts can cost less but great in meaning. A simple card would be fully appreciated by parents especially if you say in that card how much you love them. Then for Big Sister gifts, a simple shirt with a cute logo and message will make her adore you more. A nice tie or a magazine subscription for the brother is a good choice and will surely rock his world. There are a lot of gift ideas that we can think of that don’t require you to shelve out all those cash. That is what’s good in giving a gift to a family. You know that they will love it no matter what is it. The important thing is it comes from the the heart, your heart. The more personalized the gift is, the more good it is.

I just want to share my favorite shot of our family. This shot was taken when Kharl was just less than 2 months old. I just love how cute he looks when he’s wearing all white. And here in this picture, he was actually making a face. Haha!!

I’m on an assignment today. I need to search for a hotel in Tagaytay where we, my hubby and I and Kharl, are planning to spend our 1st wedding anniversary.

Hubby wants somewhere near the good spots in Tagaytay to roam around. somewhere that has a good view of the lake. Me, I have a specific setting in mind. I want a place where there is a hot tub or a jacuzzi outdoor and overlooking Taal. We’ll be in a hot tub with Kharl while watching the sunset. That’s what I have in mind from the very start. So now, I’m in the hunt for a hotel that would give us this.

I’ve found a hotel in the net and I’ve checked their website already. It’s a 4-star hotel and the place looks good. Plus, it says in their profile that all their rooms have a hot tub/jacuzzi each. I even saw in the gallery pictures a sample of their rooms and their hot tubs. Looks pretty good. It even has hot tub spa covers with nature look design. I guess the hotel gives priority to cleanliness which is a good sign that they have good service.

The hotel is a bit pricey compared to other hotels in Tagaytay but We might go with this one. I’d better call them now and book a room. Otherwise, we might run out of time and our dream anniversary celebration will not happen.

A Weekend at a Hotel

We had a blast this weekend as me, hubby and baby Kharl used our free overnight stay at the hotel where Kharl’s baptismal reception was held. We didn’t actually do much there except play, watch TV, sleep, eat and just enjoyed the cool airconditioned room where we’re staying. It was a nice weekend, away from the scorching heat of the sun. Plus, we get to bond together again.

We checked-in at the Pearl Garden hotel around 2pm of saturday. We stayed there until it is nearly evening so that the sun has gone down already. We then went to Robinson’s Place, Manila which is just a few blocks away from the hotel. We just went there strolling around and window shopping. Oh but I bought a pair of havaianas at the All Flip-Flops store since my pair just gave in. Since we’ve already used up most of our money for this period, we can’t spend much anymore, or else, we might get broke before the next pay period. If only we’re earning huge amount, then we can just buy anything we want anytime we want. We could even buy gold bars if we want, provided we have a huge amount of money stashed away. Well, it’s nice to dream isn’t it? Continue reading »

Valentine gift

It’s that season again when we see hearts and cupids and flowers and chocolates all over the place. I love Valentines day! Last year, daddy (he was still my boyfriend then) and I went to Manila Ocean park to celebrate valentines day. Not the usual romantic date I know. But believe it or not, it was fun and I really enjoyed that day. This year, I’m not sure yet how we’re going to celebrate V-day but for sure, it would not be just the two of us celebrating anymore, ’cause Kharl will be joining us in the hearts day!

By the way, daddy gave me an advance valentines gift, a heart shaped styrofoam bead pillow. Perfect to bring to the office as I’m about to go back to work again. ‘Love it!!!

Movie date with daddy

As a post birthday celebration for me, hubby treated me to a movie yesterday. But before going to the movies, we first went to Manila Ocean Park to get the ticket I won from IaAdamLim’s contest. Three tickets to the Maiden of the Sea show at the MOP. We’ll probably use it by Feb or March.

Anyway, back to my original story. So from MOP, we headed to the mall to catch a movie. It’s our first movie date for the year. Among the choices, we went for The Green Hornet. We heard it was a funny movie. The movie was ok though I got a little sleepy on some of the scenes, but some were really funny. Worth the date I must say. :)
