Maternity Swimwear for Pregnant Women

Summer has already concluded and we’ve been experiencing rains and dark skies lately. But that doesn’t stop people from hitting the waters and just cooling it off with some swimming.

This year, I’ve only had 3 swimming getaways for the summer. One is with my officemates in Pangasinan, one in Real Cove resort in Rizal with family and the other one is our wedding anniversary celebration in Canyon Cove. In this 3 instances, I wwas already pregnant. For my first outing, it was ok since my tummy is not yet bulging. But on my 2nd and 3rd swimming, my tummy is already showing signs of bulging. Too bad I wasn’t able to buy myself some Maternity Swimwear.

Some women might not be aware but being pregnant doesn’t prevent a girl to wear beautiful and fancy swimwears. There are those made specially for pregnant women. You just have to know where to find and buy one. Try to search in the mall or even online and you will see a lot of stores offering this kind of swimwears.

Getting pregnant is a blessing for any woman. It is an experience that would make any woman feel complete. But along with the excitement of having a baby comes the awkward and sometimes unwanted feeling of being ugly, fat, bloated, and just plain big. It is true that with pregnancy, a woman really gains weight, loses their sexy body and looks like the world is on her shoulders (or tummy in that matter). Well, ladies should not feel this way. The nine months that a woman has her baby developing in her tummy should be spent well and happy.

Here are top 3 ideas that I came up with to keep pregnant women still feel beautiful and attractive for the whole 9 months of carrying the baby.

1. Don’t compare yourself to your old not-pregnant state or to anyone that is not pregnant.
Your old look before you got pregnant may be far too different especially when you’re getting nearer to your due date. This is because as you get nearer the 9months due, you’ll get bigger, you’re tummy gets bigger, and you’ll tire easily. That is just normal of course. so to prevent from getting frustrated over these, do yourself a favor and don’t ever, ever compare.

2. Use the best maternity clothes out there.
Women tends to feel worse when they can’t find anything pleasant to wear. Since you won’t be able to fit in your old fashionable clothes, why not try to invest on good maternity clothes. These clothes are made to fit pregnant women so with the right outfit, any pregnant woman will feel sexy and beautiful if wearing good fitted clothes.

3. Splurge on yourself with spas, facials, massages and other pampering treatments.
Who says pregnant women cannot do any of this? Undergoing the rough months of pregnancy gives us full rights to pamper ourselves. But of course, we don’t want to risk anything that could be bad for the baby and for us. So be sure to have your doctor’s approval if you’re going to have any of these treatments.

Health card is a good investment

I was discussing maternity benefits with some friends and it made me realize how greatly it helped us that our company provides health card for us and that it includes maternity benefits for female employees.

I had c-section when I gave birth so it’s more pricey than the usual. Our health card covered up to Php 40,000 for cesarean section and Php 20,000 for normal delivery. When I had my baby, our bill was Php56,000 so we only shelled out around Php16,000. The rest was covered by our card. That was a very big help for us. The Php 40,000 we were able to save were used to buy things for baby.

After I gave birth, I had to attend to my problem with gallstones. So just after 1 and a half month, I went to my doctor and he scheduled me for my operation for gallbladded removal. The procedure done was called Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. I had the operation done at UST hospital and our bill reached Php 120,000++. Good thing my health card covered the whole lot as in 100%. I can’t imagine myself paying that much just like that. I mean, if I didn’t have a health card, I probably would still be suffering from the gallstones.

It really is a good investment to get a health card especially if your current work doesn’t provide one or you’re not working and a stay-at-home mom. So I would suggest to everyone to get health cards (Maxicare is a good one, as that is my card).

Hair Loss after Pregnancy

After giving birth last November, I have gone back to my old self little by little in terms of eating, drinking, pampering myself, etc. I even had a digital perm on my birthday.

Just recently though, I noticed something that made me uncomfortable. I’m having a serious hair loss problem. And when I say hair loss, I meant a lot of hair falling, as in I can make a hair ball in just one bath. Scary!!! At first, I thought it was because of the digital perm I had. I was even thinking of going back to the salon to ask if they can give a remedy or something for my problem. Good thing I was able to talk to my sister first and found out that the hair fall I’m experiencing is caused by my recent pregnancy and not the perm.

I did some research Continue reading »

I’m back!! But I won’t be posting much yet. I’m still recuperating from the surgery I had this weekend. I had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (I’ll talk more about this when I’m feeling better). For now, I just checked everything I left (and missed), facebook, twitter, emails, blogs. :)
