I’ve been using this iTunes app for quite sometime now, and I already wrote about this a couple of months ago. But it’s just recently that I truly appreciated it’s features. And I should say, buying it for $4.99 is definitely worth it.

Our team had a summer outing last weekend and I wasn’t able to bring a camera along. So, what I used to take pics is just my iPhone. I started editing some of the pics that I took with Snapseed and surprisingly (or should I say I was not surprised at all), I was able to come up with a very good edited pic. Well, it’s pretty good for me, so I’ll just leave the decision to you if you think a $4.99 app is worth it. :)

Kindle for iPhone

If you’re a book lover and you own an iPhone or an iTouch, then I would suggest getting the Kindle application from iTunes. This app lets you read kindle books with comfort.

The Kindle store, as what they call it, houses thousands of e-books as well as newspaper and magazine clips. Kindle, by the way is a portable reading device created by Amazon. In 2009, Amazon created a version of the app for other devices aside from the Kindle itself.

I like using this app because I could search for hundreds of books in the application and then read it directly from my iphone.

I have several photo enhancement applications for iPhone but I am always on the lookout for a better app that could do all sorts editing. I then stumbled upon a paid application that is said to be really good for photo editing.

I like the app because it’s really easy to use. It also offer lots of options so you could play with a lot of combinations when editing.Snapseed is a photo enhancer where one can tweak photos or edit only parts of it or even add effects like making a picture look dramatic or vintage.

Here are some sample shots I created using Snapseed:

The app costs $4.99 in iTunes. A little pricey I know but for me, the almost $5 is worth it.

iTunes App: GoodReads Scanner

I was browsing the iTunes store looking for any good application to download and I saw this Goodreads Scanner app. It is an application that enables the user to scan the barcode of a book and see reviews and ratings for that book.

I got curious on how this works so I downloaded it (it’s a free app) and tried for myself. Basically, the application features a barcode scanner using the phone’s camera. I tried scanning a book I have here and guess what, it worked. The scanner uses the ISBN in the barcode of the book and probably searches for a match. The scan was automatically saved and I can go back to it whenever i want to.

This app would be great when trying to search for a good read in the bookstore. If you can’t decide on what book to buy, just scan it and see if there are any reviews available.

There’s a downside for this app though. In order for you to use this app, you need internet connection. You will be able to open the application and see your saved scans even without an internet connection. But you won’t be able to read the reviews for your scans and you won’t be able to perform a new scan.

All in all, this app works fine if you constantly have internet connection, otherwise, the app would be just like a notepad where your wanted books are listed. :)

iTunes App: CamWow

I’ve discovered again another col iTunes app. CamWow is a camera application that has live effects. You can choose from several filters and use it real-time so you see the effects live on whatever you’re trying to capture. You can download it free on iTunes under the Entertainment category.
Some of the filters on this app can distort, fatten, pinch and stylize your pictures. See a sample shot taken using CamWow. This is my brother working on his laptop.

Happy Colorful Weekend everyone!!
